Ewan MacLeodHi Duane, Under Bonus Material, you can download our Aramaic Peshitta New Testament. If you look at that for Matthew 13:55, you will see the Aramaic words in this verse. Using the lessons on the Ashuri script, you will now be able to follow the sounds of the letters and vowels in this verse. Reading from right to left, the Aramaic words and translations are: la hewa (is not) hana (this) b're (son) d'nagara (of the carpenter), la (is not) emeh (his mother) metkarya (called) Maryam (Miriam) wa'achawhi (his brothers) Yakuv (Jacob) wa'Yasi (Yosi) wa'Shemun (Simeon or Simon) wa'Yehuda (Judah).
Duane Sir the whole matthew 13:55 - "Isn't this the carpenter's son? Isn't his mother's name Mary, and aren't his brothers James, Joseph, Simon and Judas?" Can you give me an aramaic "PRONunciation and the english word for word so that i could trace it one by one?
DuaneHi Sir, can you help me to pronounce the aramaic word of Matthew 13:55? I need the aramaic pronounciation of this verse and their word for word meaning in english. thanks
Ewan MacLeodHi Duane, Do you mean the verse, "Is not this the carpenter’s son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren, James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas?"
