In the previous lesson, we introduced the Serta script. Serta is a development from the Ashuri and Estrangela scripts, and arose out of those two earlier scripts. Once you know the Ashuri and Estrangela cripts, learning Serta is the next logical step - and not really a difficult step!
In this lesson, therefore, we take a further look at Serta in its historical context. We seen that Serta is a natural evolution from the earlier Ashuri and Estrangela scripts.
However, it is important to understand that all three scripts continued in use, and one did not necessarily replace the others. All three scripts are still in use down to the present day, which itself is an amazing testimony to the importance of Aramaic, and how God has carefully preserved His Word for more than two thousand years...
