Ewan MacLeod's Bio

Ewan MacLeod created this website, along with Ewan is an experienced Bible student who has studied the Holy Scriptures intensely since being baptised about 25 years ago, taking a special interest in the original languages of Scripture (Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek) as well as old Bibles and Bible Manuscripts. Ewan is an authority on Hebrew and Aramaic, as well as an author, international Bible speaker, a Bible collector and a Bible historian. Rev. David Bauscher:

I wholeheartedly endorse Ewan MacLeod's web site as a place to start for learning about the Aramaic language and the Aramaic Bible known as the Peshitta (pronounced: "Pe-sheet-a"). Ewan, like I, is a Peshitta primacist, which means he believes the Peshitta NT is the very original New Testament, from which the Greek NT was translated. This is not the prevalent view of Bible scholars in the West, but this viewpoint is starting to get a foothold and spread, due to the recent dissemination of translations and articles of the Peshitta Bible on the internet and in print. In this regard, Ewan's website provides invaluable information and tools for studying Aramaic and the Peshitta Bible, both Old and New Testaments, and discovering valuable evidence necessary for deciding which NT - Greek or Aramaic - is the original, as well as the value of the Peshitta Old Testament in determining the state of the Hebrew text of the OT in the first century AD or even earlier.

(Rev. David Bauscher has been pastoring, preaching & teaching The Bible since 1976 in several churches in the USA, with a proficiency in Hebrew, Greek and Aramaic. He runs, and has published many books about Aramaic and the Peshitta which witness to the importance and originality of Aramaic as a primary source, including the Aramaic English Interlinear NT, The Original Aramaic NT in Plain English, an Interlinear of the Aramaic Old Testament, and The First Century Aramaic Bible in Plain English [The Torah]).
