Aramaic is Still Spoken Today

In previous lessons, we have seen that Aramaic has a long history, going back more than 4000 years.
In this lesson, we see that Aramaic is remarkable indeed. Not only has it outlived essentially all the world's other languages (second only to Hebrew!), but it is still spoken today in villages across the Middle East.

Sadly, due to the atrocities that are being committed across Lebanon and Syriac over the past few years, these small villages are systematically being destroyed, and the remaining pockets of Christian communities are being killed or having to flee from their lives as refugees.
Let us pray for the return of Jesus to put right the terrible persecutions that are taking place, and for the Kingdom of God to be established.
