In the beginning - Aramaic!
Launch Interactive Lesson
In this lesson, we explore the early history of Aramaic, starting from the very beginning of Creation.
We provide clear evidence that Hebrew was the language that was created in the beginning, with a number of detailed studies which show that the world's languages are derived from Hebrew.
Up until the Tower of Babel in Genesis 11, Scripture records that, "The whole earth was of one language, and of one speech." Other languages, including Aramaic, were formed after God "confounded their language, that they may not understand one another's speech."
But once we scrape away that layer of differences, as we shall do in our series on leveraging Hebrew to learn Aramaic, we will see that Aramaic and Hebrew are very closely linked. Aramaic, too, has a long history, intertwined through the pages of Scripture - an exciting history which we will explore in later lessons.
